If you had a superpower, what would it be?

The ability to halt the urge to panic. Good outcomes are rarely derived from panic and we all know this, yet we all still sometimes panic. Often, the solution to the problem at hand is hiding just on the other side of that urge to panic. Being able to stop someone from panicking long enough to give them time to find that solution would be a valuable superpower for a leader in change management.

Why do you do what you do? What motivates you?
I enjoy being challenged and have for as long as I can remember. I’m also a bit adventurous, which means I particularly enjoy new challenges and solving new problems. Helping others is what motivates me most. I suppose that combination is what lead to me a career in technology- it is constantly changing, never short on challenges and frequently presents chances to help others adopt and use it to solve problems they or their business may be facing.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Why?
At one time, I really thought I’d become an architect. I enjoyed the combination of creativity and precision. If computer-aided design and drafting had become prominent in High School in the 1980s instead of the 1990s, that may well have been the direction my career would have gone but I’m quite glad things worked out the way they did.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love being outdoors, so I get out of the city as often as possible to hunt, fish, shoot archery, hike, or take pictures. Sometimes, I get lucky enough to do a bit of each during the same trip. My wife and I also enjoy live music, so we’re frequent concert-goers.
